Four week: Introduction to Wheel throwing
For those ready to immerse themselves in the foundations of wheel throwing.
During this four week ceramics course you're going to ground yourself with a foundation of wheel thrown pottery.
+ Structure
In this four week course, we'll cover the basics of throwing, trimming, and glazing.
In the first two weeks we’ll cover centring, throwing, and clay manipulation in order to throw a few successful pieces.
In week three we cover trimming; removing ribbons of clay to finish off our pieces.
In week four, we come together for a glazing session to finish off our functional ceramics.
+ Lesson length
Classes are 2 hrs long, and sessions run for four consecutive weeks. Same day, same time.
Can't make all classes consecutively? We can offer make up lessons with our Flexi Pass options, so if something comes up last minute we have you covered!
+ No experience required
This course is ideal for both inexperienced potters (no experience necessary!) through to those who've had a few lessons, but need a refresher to improve their technique. It's a great 'next step' for those who have taken our wheel throwing taster class.
Wanting to keep moving forward in your ceramic journey? We recommend taking this introductory course at least twice before moving onto our Continuers Course.
+ How do I book
Please note: only the FIRST date of the session is listed on our booking calendar below. You only need to book in for the first date of the session and you will be automatically signed up for all 6 consecutive weeks.
(Reminder: Please ensure you can attend ALL six consecutive dates, as we cannot offer make-up classes or switches. )
Class sizes are strictly limited (sorry, you must be over 16 years to attend)
